FOUNDER, ENTREPRENUER, CORPORATE DIRECTOR, and AREA CHAIRMAN for a MULTINATIONAL CORPORATION. Karen Saul has over 30 years of national business experience at Arthur J. Gallagher, The HR Group, LLC and Kraft CPAs. Karen’s diverse background and experience provide significant value on a wide range of strategic and commercial considerations.
As the former Area Chairman of Gallagher, Karen led the Gallagher Benefit Services division of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. in Tennessee. She was responsible for providing strategic leadership for the organization, serving as the Managing Partner for Key accounts and identifying growth/ expansion opportunities (expanding AJG’s footprint through mergers and acquisitions) in the Southeast.
Karen became a merger partner in November of 2008 when she sold her business (The HR Group, LLC) to Gallagher. As the founder/CEO of The HR Group, She built the company from a start-up to an emerging business with 25% growth year over year. The HR Group had three primary business lines: Benefits Consulting/Brokerage, Outsourced Benefits Administration (with a full-service call center) and HR Consulting & Compensation. The company served mid-sized to national businesses in variety of industries including Health Care, Manufacturing, Education and Hospitality.
Prior to founding The HR Group, Karen spent 15 years with a regional CPA firm as the leader of the organization’s Human Resources/Management Consulting practice.
In 2009, Karen was appointed to the Board of Directors at Avenue Bank, where she served on both the Audit and Compensation Committees. As a Director, she was integral in the organization’s Initial Public Offering in 2015 and its subsequent sale to Pinnacle Financial Partners, Inc. in June 2016. In addition, Karen has served on numerous private and not-for-profit boards, including the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Nashville, United Way, and Oak Hill School to name a few.

Karen received her Bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University in 1984 and her Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University in 1988. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, married for 28 years to Eric Saul and has two children Katherine (21) and Eric (17).
