Vicki Horne

After growing up in Thomasville, Georgia, Vicki attended Baylor University and graduated with a BFA degree in theatre and education from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. She won various acting awards in high school and college as well as appearing in many local commercials. While in Charleston she worked as an actor at the famed Dock Street Theatre and taught at the Theatre School for Children there. After a year as a middle school teacher Vicki and her family moved to Los Angeles where she worked as a professional actor for 10 years, appearing in shows such as Dallas and Knots Landing as well as numerous commercials and plays. While in Los Angeles Vicki spent time directing stage shows and was instrumental in creating, directing and performing in an all female musical Stir It Up!

In 1989 Vicki founded Gifts Not Forgotten, a promotional products company that began by furnishing promotional and marketing products to studios to promote their movies. In 1991 her family moved their business (Sparrow Records) to Nashville and Gifts Not Forgotten began doing business in both Nashville and Los Angeles. Vicki donated a significant portion of her profits to charity each year. 

Vicki’s strong marketing skills and contacts have been used extensively in her work as a community volunteer and fundraiser. She is a past president of CABLE, where she also served in a leadership capacity for over 9 years on the board,  and Program committee , chairing it in 1996.   She was the  CABLE Athena nominee in 2009 and also received the Networking Award. As President during our 20th anniversary year she instituted the Leadership Award. The Super Session was also revived under her term as President. Vicki also co chaired the steering committee for the 2001 Athena International Conference held here in Nashville. 

 She also was chairman of the board of the Nashville Chapter of the American Heart Association, where the emphasis became women’s heart health.  She chaired the 2002 Heart Gala where over $500,000 was raised, the first time that goal had been reached in 29 years.  She has also chaired the Iroquois Steeplechase benefiting Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and the Nashville Public Library Foundation Gala, leadership team for go Red For Women, 2011 Symphony Ball and 2014 Symphony Fashion Show, each of these events broke all existing attendance and financial records.  Vicki continues to serve on advisory councils for the Library Foundation Gala, Symphony Ball, Symphony Fashion Show, Girl Scout Nominating committee and CABLE . 

Additionally she served on the, Fifty Forward Board for 2 terms and will be honored this year with a Crowning Achievement Award.  She has been active on the committees for the American Cancer Society Wine Auction,  Nashville Ballet Ball,  Swan Ball  and CABLE’s 25th Anniversary Celebration. 

Vicki chaired the first awards luncheon for the Arts and Business Council  (Bowtie Awards) which gives awards to business in middle Tennessee that support the arts. 

Vicki’s efforts through fundraising have raised over $6 million dollars for various causes since moving to Middle Tennessee in 1991. 

She  served on the Tennessee Repertory Theatre Board from 2009 until 2016, and was President from 2014-2016.  Under her leadership the Rep board changed their name to the Nashville Repertory Theatre, hired a managing directory and instituted an inaugural fundraiser. The first Broadway Brunch netted over $80,000 for the organization.   

Vicki’s efforts through fundraising have raised over $6 million dollars for various causes since moving to Middle Tennessee in 1991. 

She currently serves on the Nashville Symphony Board and is part of the Executive Committee.   She continues to serve on the Leadership Nashville planning committee,  and on the board of the  The Nashville Food Project.

Vicki’s  husband Rick, recently retired after 30 years as CFO at Capitol Christian Music Group. They   enjoy boating and relaxing at their lake home on Center Hill Lake. Vicki and Rick have one daughter, Ashley, who is  photo and video producer, working in New York City, Los Angeles and Nashville.  She recently moved to Nashville married Hunter Herring and they have the MOST adorable baby girl in the world, Harlowe.
