RUTHERFORD Cable 5thPresident (2013-14)

Kathy Jones is an experienced entrepreneur and CEO who has more than three decades of business experience in multiple industries, including real estate, title insurance, technology, retail, and marketing, as well as in community and economic development.

The first ten years of Kathy’s career were focused on software development and team leadership in the technology space, followed by co-founding, opening, and managing a chain of 10 title offices over a twelve year period before selling the company to Stewart Title Company (NYSE: STC).

Kathy led 40+ offices throughout Tennessee and Arkansas during the height of the real estate market as a Stewart regional CEO; she continued to lead them through the Great Recession, and back to recovery.

Kathy gained her bona fides in multichannel retail as owner of Artisan Design Gallery, providing a boutique shopping experience for connoisseurs of fine jewelry and art glass. Kathy first operated Artisan Design Gallery as an e-commerce site, then responded to market demand by adding a retail location. Ownership of both provided Kathy with the opportunity to further hone her marketing skills and engage audiences across multiple platforms.

Kathy’s love of challenge enabled Bob Parks Realty to lure her away from a successful career in the title business to her current role as managing broker of its flagship office, where she uses skills she developed from owning and operating her businesses to coach 150+ independently contracted agents toward success in owning and operating theirs. Her goal is to help each agent develop a consistent six-figure income from real estate.

Kathy’s native Rutherford County has experienced exponential growth over the past two decades; as a member of the Murfreesboro Planning Commission for 20 years, she has helped guide the physical growth of the city from that of a small town to its current status as one of the fastest-growing cities in the Southeast. Kathy has also led economic development through her service as board chair of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to serving as president of the Middle Tennessee State University Foundation Board, she received the MTSU Jones College of Business Exemplar Award. She chaired the board of the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, and has served as president of Rutherford Cable. Kathy was honored by the Rutherford County YMCA with its Humanitarian of the Year award.

Kathy earned her B.A. in business administration and economics from Rollins College in Florida, and her M.A. in Finance from Middle Tennessee State University. Kathy lives in Murfreesboro with her husband Bill; they have two adult children, Alison and Sutton.
