We have an extensive 6-month mentoring program with proven positive results for both the mentee and mentor. The program is designed to sharpen our participants’ professional skills. The program includes monthly half-day meetings focused on strength finding, presentation skills, developing your personal and professional vision, civic leadership and more. Participants are assigned to a seasoned mentors, meeting monthly outside of the schedule workshops. In addition, participants develop strong relationships with their peers in the program.
Traditionally, our “Reaching Nashville Women” sponsors had the benefit to choose a select number of their emerging leaders to participate in program. This year, we are opening up this wonderful program to two emerging leaders in the Cable Membership who want to develop strong mentoring relationships, while also developing her leadership skills.
To be selected fill out this Application is due by April 14th. Our mentoring Program selection committee will select two of our applicants for the program. Cost of the program for the applicant will be $500 and you must be a member of Cable.
For this program, you need to embody the following:
Be teachable: be willing to learn new things, obtain another perspective, and be responsive to suggestions and constructive criticism.
Take initiative: take the initiative to ask your Mentor questions, to let him or her know what you are working on, and to ask about his or her academic and professional experiences.
Honor your commitment: be appreciative and respectful of your Mentor’s time; mentors also have very demanding jobs and are participating because they are committed to mentoring and to you. Respond in a timely manner to your Mentor’s calls or emails and be on time to your meetings.
