Liz Sitgreaves

Liz Sitgreaves is an attorney at The Law Offices of John Day, P.C. where she focuses on appellate work, personal injury law, wrongful death and tort litigation. Liz attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and served on the Tennessee Journal of Law and Policy. Sitgreaves received her B.A. in political science magna cum laude from the University of Georgia. Liz is a self-proclaimed “people person” who enjoys helping others using the law as a conduit. She enjoys listening to her clients, understanding what they are going through, then sharing their story with the courts so her client’s story is given a voice.

Liz previously served as a Senior Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Frank Clement of the Tennessee Court of Appeals before transitioning to private practice.

Liz has been recognized as an Attorney for Justice the Tennessee Supreme Court continually from 2015 – 2020 for her dedication to pro bono service and service to the bar.

From 2015-2018, Liz was recognized as a Rising Star by Mid-South Super Lawyer and was named by Best Lawyers in America as a top attorney in Personal Injury Litigation and Products Liability Litigation in 2020 and 2021. She has also been recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as one of the “Best of the Bar” in 2017, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

A past president of the Lawyers’ Association for Women (LAW), she was the first recipient of its Rising Star Award in 2015. During her Presidency, she established an ongoing Lean-In Circles program that continues today to provide networking and mentoring opportunities to LAW members and previously served as Co-Chair of the 2021 Marion Griffin Women’s Symposium.

Liz currently serves on the board of the Nashville Bar Association as Second Vice President. She is a graduate of the inaugural Nashville Bar Foundation’s Leadership Forum and is a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation. Liz is also a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Leadership Law Program.
She is a Barrister of the Harry Phillips American Inns of Court and served on the Executive Committee for the Inn from 2019-2021.

A past nominee for the Nashville ATHENA Young Professionals’ Award, Liz served as the Chair of the 32nd Annual Nashville ATHENA Awards & Scholarship Program.
