OCTOBER 10, 2018
7:30 am – Networking
THE RENAISSANCE HOTEL
Join us on October 10th for Cable’s 40th Anniversary celebration. Women from 40 years of service will come together to recognize our past Presidents and to be inspired by the work being done today. We will also recognize our Rutherford chapter. They too are celebrating a big anniversary – 10 years.
Help us celebrate this long-standing and vibrant organization and its members. We work together to elevate conversation and action around the absence of women on corporate boards, inclusion and professional development. And, let us not forget, the wonderful work around the Athena program.
We will also hear from keynote speaker, Laura Hollingsworth. She was a leader from day one at Gannett quickly moving up the ranks in a very dominant male industry. In 2018, she ended her 29-year career as President of The Tennessean and of the USA TODAY NETWORK TENNESSEE and found her next challenge at Ryman Hospitality as the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Opry Entertainment Group.
Laura Hollingsworth is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Opry Entertainment Group / Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc. Prior to joining Ryman in April of 2018, she spent a 29-year career in news media, most recently as President of The Tennessean and of the USA TODAY NETWORK TENNESSEE, including Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, Clarksville, and Murfreesboro. Before arriving in Nashville, Laura served as President and Publisher of The Des Moines Register in Iowa for many years and was a Group President for the Gannett Company with oversight of 26 media markets throughout the country.
In her current role, Hollingsworth is responsible for shaping and leading the brand strategy for all Opry Entertainment Group experiences including the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, WSM-AM and online, and Ole Red, as well as for Opry content and digital productions. Laura is very active in the Nashville region, serving on multiple boards of directors. Her passions include family, travel, and of course, music.
Laura is married to John, a senior banking professional. They have three children; a daughter, Kayla, and twins, Josh and Kendall, who all reside in Nashville.
