Corporate Board Academy Conversation Series

Cable’s hallmark initiative is Women on Corporate Boards, which advocates for gender diversity on boards and in top leadership teams of Tennessee companies.

 

Our Conversation Series includes discussions with women professionals from corporate boards. Learn what you can do during different levels of your career to equip you to join corporate boards or help other women get there.

Jan Babiak

Design/lead instructor for the Corporate Board Academy program for board qualified and aspiring women directors.

NACD Directorship magazine named Jan one of the most influential people in the boardroom community in 2017. Jan has experience serving as an independent director in five countries and currently chairs the audit committees of Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc, the Bank of Montreal, and is an independent non-executive director at UK-based Euromoney Institutional Investors. She also serves on the board of GHD Group, an Australian-based engineering firm and GlobalLogic, a next-generation digital product development services company based in Silicon Valley. Prior board service includes the Royal Mail and Logica plc.

Jan spent 28 years with EY, holding global leadership roles serving on the firm’s most prestigious clients in financial services, technology, energy, media, transportation, retail and other sectors.

Jan resides in Nashville. She is co-chair of the Tennessee Chapter of Women Corporate Directors.

Rita Johnson Mills brings over 25 years of progressive executive level leadership experience to corporate boards. She spent over 15 years as a senior executive with Centene Corporation and UnitedHealthcare, of which her last role was CEO of UHC Community Plan of TN. Over this time period Rita has received numerous honors and awards and was voted 2017 CEO of the Year by the Nashville Business Journal.

Among other appointments, Rita serves as a member of the MyNexus Advisory Board and as an Independent Director on the Brookdale Senior Living, Inc. Board of Directors. Rita holds dual Masters Degrees from The Ohio State University, one in Labor and Human Resource Management and the other in Public Policy. Rita is a Hogan certified Executive Coach and a Senn-Delaney certified corporate culture Facilitator.


 
Rita P. Mitchell overcame numerous obstacles to accomplish personal goals throughout her career in the financial services industry spanning almost four decades. She became president of her own insurance and securities brokerage firm, has spoken on the TEDx stage, contributed to Black Enterprise magazine, and became the first-ever recipient of First Horizon’s 2018 Inclusion & Diversity Leader’s Award. Before retiring in early 2018, Rita served as Executive Vice President and Manager of Private Client Services for Middle Tennessee, First Tennessee Bank. Residing in Nashville, TN, Rita enjoys writing, cooking, and traveling with the love of her life, Fulton, and her daughter, Brittany.


 
Linda Rebrovick has over 35 years of national and global business experience at IBM, KPMG, Dell, CEO of Consensus Point, and CEO of Integrated Healing Technologies. Linda has also served on private and public company boards for 20 years, including KPMG, HealthStream, Pinnacle Financial Partners, and Tribridge. And, is currently, Board Director, HealthStream, Inc.

Corporate leadership roles: Area Vice President, Dell Healthcare Sales, Chief Marketing Officer, BearingPoint, and Executive Vice President and Managing Partner, KPMG Consulting. Beginning with IBM as a Marketing Representative, Marketing Manager, then Business Unit Executive. Received her BS, Auburn University.

Evette White is a seasoned CEO with leadership experience as the founder of an integrated marketing agency (paid/earned/owned media optimization and analytics) serving private, private equity, and public company clients with market caps of up to $78B, and as Chief Strategy Officer for Saint Thomas Health, a $1B Ascension Healthcare system. Sold agency in 2015, currently CEO of Executive Selection, applying history of building successful competency-based teams to companies at the point of hire and beyond.

Non Executive Director for Delta Dental of Tennessee, serving as Chair of the Corporate Citizenship Committee and Member of the Audit Committee. Systems thinking leadership expertise in strategy, cultural change management and customer experience transformation. Functional leadership expertise in strategy, finance, human capital, operations and governance.
