The Inaugural Power & Purpose Luncheon

For nearly two decades, Cable’s Power of Inclusion (POI) Awards has honored individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations in Nashville who championed diversity and advanced innovative approaches to equity and inclusion. Nominees have been evaluated and selected by Cable’s panel of Diversity Best Practice experts, with criteria reflecting the highest standards for fostering a diverse workplace—spanning equitable hiring practices, community advocacy, and measurable progress in addressing workforce inequalities.

In 2025, we are proud to announce that we have reimagined the Power of Inclusion Awards as the Power & Purpose Awards. This evolution expands our recognition beyond inclusion, honoring those who not only champion equity but also lead with vision, impact, and intentional purpose. The Power & Purpose Awards will continue the legacy of celebrating trailblazers in our community while amplifying the ways leadership rooted in purpose transforms workplaces and communities alike.

Nominations Open September 15, 2025

About the Board Walk of Fame

Cable honors Tennessee women and companies taking the lead in promoting women on corporate boards through its annual Power of Inclusion event. During the event, these corporate leaders – who have acted on the evidence that more women on boards and in senior leadership positions lead to improved financial results and corporate vitality – are recognized and inducted into Cable’s Corporate Board Walk of Fame.

Studies show that, while the percentage of female directors is improving, Tennessee continues to rank among the lowest states for representation of women on corporate boards. More champions are needed to increase the number of women in leadership positions and on boards. By hosting Power of Inclusion, Cable strives to show the business community in Tennessee, and beyond the availability of qualified women and the value women bring to corporate boards.
