Cable advocates for women to advance in their careers and to serve in high-level capacities in our community. Some of our programs include:
Women on Corporate Boards
Cable’s hallmark initiative is Women on Corporate Boards, which advocates for gender diversity on boards and in top leadership teams of Tennessee companies. Through Women on Corporate Boards, Cable supports Tennessee’s greatest un-tapped resources – women!
Board Walk of Fame
Cable honors Tennessee women and companies who are taking the lead in promoting women on corporate boards through its annual Board Walk of Fame event. During the event, these corporate leaders – who have acted on the evidence that more women on boards and in senior leadership positions leads to improved financial results and corporate vitality – are recognized and inducted into Cable’s Corporate Board Hall of Fame.
Corporate Board Academy
The Corporate Board Academy is designed to help prepare board-ready women obtain meaningful corporate board roles. The Corporate Board Academy was developed by the Tennessee Chapter of Women Corporate Directors and EY and it covers critical information including current board topics, committee structures, researching potential board roles, and how to best present for a board role.
Executive Leadership Academy
A partnership of Lipscomb University’s Nelson & Sue Andrews Institute for Civic Leadership, an academic incubator that encourages civic change and builds community.
Each year during Women’s History Month in March, Nashville joins more than 500 communities throughout the United States, Canada, China, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Bermuda, Greece, India, and the United Kingdom in honoring exceptional women leaders who inspire others to achieve excellence in their own professional and personal lives.
Power Of Inclusion
The Power of Inclusion (POI) event has become one of Cable’s premier annual initiatives. Our POI Awards recognize Nashville individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations that championed all types of diversity and developed innovative methods to enhance diversity and inclusion.
“Reaching Nashville Women” sponsors are invited to choose a number of their emerging leaders to participate in a six-month mentoring program designed to sharpen their professional skills.
