Nashville CABLE Call for Program Partners & Presenters

Help Us Create Experiences That Help Women Connect. Grow. Thrive.

Nashville CABLE invites dynamic speakers, facilitators, subject-matter experts, practitioners, and community partners to submit proposals for consideration as part of our upcoming programming.

CABLE’s programming is evolving.

Our goal is not simply to fill a calendar with speakers. We are creating meaningful experiences that respond to the professional, personal, financial, relational, and wellness needs of women throughout Middle Tennessee.

Throughout the year, CABLE offers a mix of in-person and virtual programs, facilitated networking experiences, interactive workshops, expert panels, signature events, wellness experiences, and other opportunities designed to help women connect, grow, and thrive.

We are looking for people who can help us create those experiences.

Proposals should be relevant to CABLE’s diverse community of women professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, emerging leaders, nonprofit and civic professionals, creatives, and community changemakers across industries, career stages, and life experiences.

What We’re Looking For

CABLE audiences value substance, authenticity, interaction, and practical application. Successful programs should do more than inspire attendees in the moment. They should create opportunities for participants to learn something useful, engage with one another, consider a new perspective, develop a practical skill, or take meaningful action afterward.

We are especially interested in programs and experiences that support the whole woman, including topics such as:

We welcome ideas beyond this list. If there is an important conversation women should be having, we want to hear it.

Experiences, Not Just Presentations

CABLE is intentionally moving toward more participatory programming.

We welcome proposals for:

Interactive Workshops
Hands-on sessions where participants work through an issue, develop a skill, or leave with a completed tool or action plan.

Panel Conversations
Thoughtful discussions featuring multiple perspectives and facilitated audience engagement.

Fireside Conversations
Candid conversations that move beyond traditional career biographies into substantive ideas, experiences, lessons, and perspectives.

Facilitated Networking Experiences
Creative approaches to helping women build authentic professional and personal relationships.

Wellness Experiences
Meditation, movement, mindfulness, yoga, reflection, nutrition, stress management, and other evidence-informed wellness practices led by qualified practitioners.

Expert Talks
Focused presentations built around a compelling idea, practical expertise, emerging issue, or relevant research.

Virtual Learning Experiences
Interactive programming designed specifically for an online audience rather than simply translating an in-person presentation to a screen.

Other Creative Formats
Have an idea that doesn’t fit neatly into one of these categories? We welcome innovative approaches.

What Makes a Strong CABLE Program?

CABLE members represent diverse industries, professions, generations, backgrounds, and stages of life. Our strongest programs recognize that diversity and create opportunities for attendees to learn both from the presenter and from one another.

Preference will be given to proposals that:

Active-learning strategies may include facilitated discussion, case studies, exercises, reflection, audience polling, small-group conversation, demonstrations, action planning, networking activities, or other participatory approaches.

Proposal Selection Criteria

The CABLE Programs Committee will review proposals based on:

Relevance
Does the topic address the current interests, challenges, or opportunities facing CABLE members?

Expertise
Does the presenter or facilitator demonstrate credible experience or subject-matter knowledge?

Experience Design
Will attendees actively participate rather than simply listen?

Practical Value
Will participants leave with useful ideas, resources, connections, strategies, or actions?

Timeliness
Is the topic relevant to what women are navigating now?

Originality
Does the proposal bring a fresh perspective, format, or conversation to CABLE?

Inclusivity
Does the program recognize the diversity of experiences represented within CABLE’s membership?

Overall Quality
Is the concept clearly defined, thoughtfully structured, and appropriate for a CABLE audience?

When proposing a panel, applicants should intentionally consider diversity of experience, expertise, industry, background, and perspective rather than assembling speakers who are likely to offer identical viewpoints.

What Your Proposal Should Include

The Speaker & Program Proposal Form will request:

Program Title

Program Description

Provide a concise description of the proposed experience and the primary topics or issues that will be addressed.

Audience Takeaways

Identify what attendees should know, understand, experience, or be prepared to do differently after participating.

Program Format

Indicate whether you are proposing a workshop, panel, fireside conversation, expert talk, facilitated networking experience, wellness experience, virtual program, or another format.

Engagement Strategy

Explain how attendees will participate in the experience rather than passively receive information.

Presenter Information

Provide relevant professional experience, credentials, expertise, and previous speaking or facilitation experience.

Resources or Requirements

Identify any technology, room configuration, equipment, materials, or other resources required to successfully deliver the program.

Proposals from CABLE members and non-members will receive equal consideration.

Presenter Expectations & Terms

Presenters selected for CABLE programming will receive written confirmation outlining the program date, format, timing, audience, responsibilities, and other engagement details.

Education First

CABLE programming is designed to provide value to attendees. Presentations may not be used primarily to promote or sell a presenter’s products, programs, consulting services, or other commercial offerings.

When appropriate, CABLE may provide designated opportunities for vendors, sponsors, partners, or presenters to share resources outside the educational portion of the program.

Inclusive & Respectful Programming

Presenters are expected to create respectful learning environments appropriate for CABLE’s diverse membership and to engage participants without discrimination based on protected characteristics.

Program Length

Program length will vary based on the experience. Virtual panels and conversations may typically range from 45–60 minutes. Interactive workshops may range from 60–120 minutes.

In-person programs may combine facilitated networking, educational content, discussion, and audience participation.

Signature and special experiences may have customized formats and schedules.

Selected presenters will receive specific expectations from the Programs Committee.

Content & Format

CABLE may work collaboratively with selected presenters to refine program titles, descriptions, learning outcomes, formats, discussion questions, or interactive components to ensure alignment with the organization’s programming strategy and audience needs.

Scheduling

Submitting a proposal does not guarantee selection or placement on the annual calendar. CABLE may retain strong proposals for consideration for future programs, panels, workshops, or as alternate programming should an unexpected opening arise.

CABLE reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel programs as organizational needs require.
