Dr. LaShante Walker has significant experience in the academy and education field, affording her a long-term viability and tenure in her related positions. As such, she has produced healthy, enduring results towards meeting specific strategic initiatives within higher education, church, and community organizations.
Prior to launching her consulting business, Walker served as the provost for Academic Affairs and Student Life at American Baptist College. Additionally, she served as a distinguished faculty member for the college. During her academic tenure, she was responsible for the direct oversight of the HBCU grant office at American Baptist College. Under her leadership, the grant award increased from the initial amount of $500,000 in 2013 to over $2.3 million dollars in 2017-2018.
In her current role as president of Walker Vision Consulting Inc., she now provides executive level coaching, leadership development, grant writing and grant evaluation services, diversity and inclusion training and serves as a keynote speaker. Her professional memberships have included ACPA College Student Educators International, NASPA Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, Pi Lambda Theta Professional Association in Education, Nashville Public Education Foundation Committee Member and Pencil Partner Sponsor.
Walker received her B.A. in Political Science from Arkansas State University. She continued her education at Vanderbilt University where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Theological Studies. In December of 2015, she acquired her Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Lipscomb University. Walker is also an ordained minister and can be seen locally and nationally ministering to various congregations.
